All of our sheep are genetically tested for scrapie resistance at codon 171, and we participate in not only the mandatory scrapie program, but also in the voluntary scrapie eradication program. After much culling, our flock is also now free of OPP (ovine progressive pneumonia), hoof rot, and other contagious diseases. Our goal is the production of beautiful fleeces and top-notch, fast-growing, disease-free breeding stock.

Lambs are due beginning mid-February.

Grayson, a naturally colored, registered Romney ram was born as a twin on March 4, 2007. His dam is Camille, who we bought from Anchorage Farm in NY for her sturdy build and her gorgeous fleece. Her fleece is now a pale silver in color, with beautiful luster and great crimp. Her fleeces have won multiple awards, including Best of Show at the Iowa Sheep and Wool Festival in 2006 (See a photo of one of her winning fleeces on the Fleeces for Sale page).

Grayson's sire is Darwin who was purchased from Julian & Moore in OH for his size and build, in addition to his award-winning fleece. It is obvious that Grayson inherited his sire's fast growth, since he was our fastest growing lamb of 2007, gaining an average of over one pound per day for the first ninety days of his life. He is our biggest ram lamb of 2007, with a very correct build and a very nice dark fleece.

Grayson was sheared in early October with the other ram lambs. His fleece at only seven months of age weighed nine pounds, yielding over five pounds of clean, beautiful handspinning-quality fleece. Sample staples from this fleece are shown below.

Grayson is priced at $350. Delivery within 400 miles of our farm may be arranged for expenses.
